The DAEN Split ring Maria have produced is designed to be tied directly to your leader line. Being an oval shape your line will always sit in the short side of the split, also the opening is situated on the long side meaning you're line won't get caught and pull through.

They can also be used to hang your hooks, giving you more space between lure and hook resulting in a better hook up rate.
