Fish Head began in 2003 when Duncan and Janelle took over a small bait and tackle store at Redland Bay on the south side of Brisbane. The store quickly grew into a specialty lure shop, importing hard to find tackle from around the globe, introducing many new boutique and handmade brands to the Australian market particularly from Japan. The growth of jigging, topwater and GT fishing in Australia allowed Fish Head to be at the forefront of these styles and began shipping world-wide as well as organising trips to many hot spots in Australia and abroad. After shifting to larger premises in nearby Victoria Point in 2007, the growth and demand for high quality tackle around Australia (and the world) prompted a further move in 2012 to focus on online sales from their base on the Gold Coast. After ticking over 20 years in business in 2023 at their new headquarters in Nerang QLD, the focus remains the same: more cool, interesting and handmade tackle from all over the world and many fishy adventures ahead!

What are your shipping options?

We offer worldwide shipping to most destinations, but please note that there may be restrictions on certain products. We charge a flat rate of $10AUD or $50AUD for bulky domestic items, and offer free shipping for orders over $180AUD (excluding bulky items). For international orders, we use FedEx and shipping rates are calculated based on the weight of the items and the destination country. Import taxes and customs duties are not included in the shipping price. Please be aware that unexpected delays may occur due to factors beyond our control, such as customs processing times or weather conditions. If you have any questions or concerns about shipping, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Can Fish Head ship ZENAQ to my country?

We're sorry, but due to our distribution agreement with ZENAQ, we can only ship their products to customers in Australia and New Zealand. If you place an order for ZENAQ products and reside outside of these countries, we will have to refund and cancel your order.

Can I visit the Fish Head showroom?

Yes, you can visit our showroom by appointment only. Since we're primarily an online store, our hours may vary, so please give us a call to schedule a visit.

How long till 'Out of Stock' products become available again?

Most of our products are handmade in Japan, so lead times can vary. Please give us a call and we can provide you with a more accurate time frame and put you on the waiting list.

Do you sell reels?

Unfortunately, we don't sell reels. Our focus is on bringing in the world's top brands for rods, lures, lines, and terminals.

How you do you ship orders?

Within Australia, we ship all items via Express Post with Australia Post. For long or bulky items, such as rods, we use a courier service. The courier we choose depends on various factors such as location, remoteness, and delivery estimates.

For international orders, we use FedEx and the shipping cost is calculated based on the weight of the order.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Delivery times vary depending on your location and the shipping method you choose. Once your order is processed, we'll provide you with an estimated delivery date.
