The IS83-M3 Squid Squad is one of the latest releases in the new Inqlude range by Zenaq. This specialty eging rod is the lighter of the two squid models, a delicate yet powerful rod featuring Zenaq's parabolic action essential to any eging rod. The Squid Squad is the go to eging rod for most anglers covering the majority of egi weights and techniques with plenty of power when needed. The Squid Squad is designed mainly for throwing egi lures in the 2.5-3.5 sizes where you want to really punch the cast out and work the egi lures with ease. In Australia we have noticed a lot of anglers opt for an extra light almost bream rod for egi fishing. You find it will handle the fight of a squid easily but will struggle when really whipping the jigs through your wrist, this is where these rods excel! Although designed for targeting squid the IS83-M3 also makes a great light tackle rod perfect for small soft baits and minnows around rock walls and ledges.

Zenaq have been building squid specific rods for over 20 years after the original release of an aggressive egging range in 2001. In 2004 the unique parabolic action was released to the market but it took a few years for anglers to realise its superiority in the art of egging. Now after 20 years the new Parabolic actioned Inqlude IS83-M3 Squid Squad has made its return to the field, evolved with a new carbon material blank.

Parabolic Action?

By using high elasticity carbon for the tip and medium elasticity carbo for the butt, it has a unique action that bends from the butt while still having tension. By bending from the butt, energy is accumulated and the power is transmitted to the high elasticity tip all at once. This helps create powerful casting and jerking that cannot be experienced with a fast taper. The way this rod actioned is achieved is not making the rod as light as possible. To create a true parabolic action a thick blank with some mass is essential. Rather than making the rod lighter Zenaq focused on developing a rod blank that does the job that it really needs to.

New Rod Features:

Zenaq's unique RG guide system, which has a high reputation as "the guide system with the least line trouble", has been further improved. By evolving the conventional RG butt guide (RG7) into the ultra-high "RG10", it can handle a wide range of mid-shore games up to PE3 class lines. The RG10 instantly suppresses the line loop released from the reel spool and converts it into a straight line trajectory without fluttering. This new RG10 guide system has been beefed up to allow the use of up to 60lb shock leaders to be used further enhancing the versatility of this rod,

Like most new models from Zenaq it also features there new Hexagon reel seat. The Hexagon reel seat uses a carbon frame skeleton and a special rubber that does not change due to hydrolysis. By covering the entire rod with rubber designed with exquisite hardness, it creates an unprecedented feeling that fits your hand, and the unique hexagonal shape makes it easy to hold the rod with little force. Another fantastic feature of this reel seat is that it doesn't come loose during a long fight!!

The Zenaq Inqlude IS83-M3 Squid Squad will best suit reels in the 2500-3000 size reel from Shimano or Daiwa.
