The Defi Muthos range consists of high quality shore casting rods from renowned Japanese rod manufacturer Zenaq. The Sonio 100M is built to cast smaller lures, while still having the capacity to catch large fish. The rod suits smaller lures in the 20-80g range best and line up to PE# 3 making it well perfect to target a huge range of species of the rocks.
The Sonio is built as an all rounder shore casting rod to work everything from jigs to poppers. The crisp and responsive blank has plenty of power in the bottom end to turn a fish away from structure when needed, while the sensitive tip works a variety of lures to perfection. The Sonio 100M is perfect for casting lures at tailor, kahawai, mulloway, as well as smaller kings, mackerel and tuna off the rocks.
This rod has Zenaqs signature high quality build featuring with immaculate bindings, grips and a double nut ring to lock your reel onto the Fuji reel seat.
There are two build versions of the rod, one featuring Fuji Titanium framed K guides in a conventional arrangement and also the Zenaq RG style. The RG style features a mixture of Zenaq proprietary RG guides at the bottom end of the rod and increased numbers of Fuji Ti K guides towards the tip. Zenaq has been hand making fishing rods in Japan since 1960, beginning with bamboo, then glass fiber and now carbon fibre. They are one of the few manufacturers left in Japan making rods fully in house from concept to completion. Their quality and attention to detail in construction is second to none. Pursuit of perfection is everywhere in Zenaq rods from the initial cutting on carbon sheets through to the final layer of epoxy on a finished rod.
