Huerco YS408-5C is a baitcasting finesse rod specialised for mountain streams has been released in collaboration with Yamanami Shoten. Designed primarily for twitching sinking minnows, this rod is an elegant masterpiece with an easy-to-handle length of 4 feet 8 inches and wood (bird's eye wood) on the reel seat and single hand grip. This rod would suit someone who wants to travel hunting smaller trout's in moving streams all around the world.
Crafted on a 4 feet 8 inches blank, this rod is specifically designed for mountain streams particularly headwaters ensuring smooth performance from casting to lure action and hooking. We've achieved the perfect balance for mountain stream minnow fishing, avoiding excessive softness or stiffness. From tip to belly, even with lightweight lures around 3g, the rod loads effortlessly, making casting easy and eliminating the "too stiff to cast" issue despite its compact length. Side, backhand, and flip casts all perform seamlessly.
The YS408-5C features a carbon blank paired with stainless steel Sic guides. Its small joints and narrow-diameter guides allow for easy storage, perfect for high winds in headwater areas. The reel seat and grip are made from premium bird’s eye maple, custom-designed for this model, and all reel hoods and other components are crafted from original metal with a gunmetal finish. Each handle is handcrafter and unique to each rod making these little rods truly one of a kind.
This rod is designed for finesse baitcast fishing and will perfectly match smaller profile reels like the Shimano Calcutta Conquest BFS.
It can be stored extremely compactly with a retracted size of 35cm meaning it will fit just about anywhere. All Huerco rods come with a separate storage bag and tube.
