Built for large spin reels like the Daiwa and Shimano 18000-20000 models, these rods are designed to rip jigs through the water quickly, then give unparalleled lifting power. The longer length enables long, fast rod sweeps to get the jigs rocketing through the water. The butt length is not too long which allows anglers to jig from the gimbal belt, as well as underarm. When loaded, the long foregrip and comfortable reel height puts the angler in a commanding position to subdue monster fish. The superb lifting power and blank strength gives anglers the opportunity to put maximum pressure on the fish, while the extra carbon wraps in the blank give anglers extra security from the odd knock or high stick event.
Compared to most other brands, the Patriot Designs rods are somewhat under-rated. A PE 5-6 Patriot jig rod is more like a PE8 rod from other brands, while the PE6-8 is closer to PE10 in other brands ratings.
The Patriot Design Dogtooth Pro Rods are built with Fuji reel seats and Fuji stainless framed SiC MNSG (Ocean) guides. All models feature alloy gimbal fitting on the butt.
