The Tobizo Range of rods from Zenaq is the absolute pinnacle in offshore casting performance and the new Monster Buster TC77 Tuna is no exception. The Monster Buster has been designed and developed to have the ability to lift a 200kg+ tuna whilst being loaded up at a deep angle. This rod has had some serious hours of field testing, bench testing and design over 4 seasons starting in 2019 to present. The main hurdle was to be able to create a rod that can still cast a 100g lure with ease and be able to land a 200kg fish without it being an absolute broom stick of a rod. The Monster Buster delivers both of these key features making it one of the most powerful casting tuna rods on the market that even allows normal sized anglers to bend the rod and stop a 200kg+ tuna!!
Rod Blank
Thanks to the DBL Structure, this rod blank boasts impressive heavy load durability, able to withstand the maximum drag from a large reel even at a steep angle of 65 degrees. Its core flexibility allows the rod to be bent effectively with realistic human strength, generating repulsive power as it bends. Even in a fight with monster tunas, the rod blank remains robust, assisting anglers by lifting while enduring the strain. Its length of 7’7’’ optimizes casting performance, lure control, and performance when facing the heaviest fight.
Handle and reel seat
For big game reliability they have developed an entirely new heavy-fighting grip incorporating rubber material in their trusted Hexagon Grip. This rubber grip features only in the foregrip with the butt section featuring A grade EVA. The amount of stress put on the reel seat when going head-to-head with a monster catch exceeding 200kg is enormous. This robust metal reel seat is designed with the utmost priority on absolute capture, allowing you to concentrate all your nerves on the fight. Moreover, the rubber cushion sheet improves the fixation of the reel. It reduces angler's stress in fighting and repeated casting. Lastly unlike all the other Tobizo rods in the range the Monster Buster has a metal gimbal end and a rubber cap for those who don't want to use a gimbal belt.
Guide Setup
They configured the guides for use with ultra-large tackle such as reels over size 20000 and PE lines with a PE rating of 12. Moreover, the Assist Guide significantly reduces line tangling at the tip, eliminating line troubles and enabling smooth line release and stable long-distance casting. The Monster Buster TC77 features a Fuji RVSG (Titanium) stripper guide, Fuji Stainless MNSG running guides, Fuji KWSG (Titanium) line assist guide through to a Fuji MNST (Titanium) tip guide. So in other words the best of the best!
