Zenaq Sonio 100M has been a shore casting staple for many years with it's proven performance and blank design and the Type R is no different. The same popular blank design but blinged out with top of the range guides, Zenaqs in house reel seat and single bindings keeping the rod light and crisp.
Sonio 100M Type R is built to cast smaller lures, while still having the capacity to catch large fish. The rod best suits smaller lures in the 20-80g range and line up to PE#3 making it well perfect to target a huge range of species of the rocks. The Sonio is built as an all rounder shore casting rod to work everything from jigs to poppers. The crisp and responsive blank has plenty of power in the bottom end to turn a fish away from structure when needed, while the sensitive tip works a variety of lures to perfection. The Sonio 100M Type R is perfect for casting lures at tailor, kahawai, tuna species, mulloway, as well as smaller kings, mackerel and tuna off the rocks.

Zenaq Hexagon reel seat
The reels seat uses a composite of high strength and long-fibre carbon from Toray in a special molding machine to produce reel seats that can hold a large reel firmly without wobbling. The Hexagon reel seat also has the same shape as Zenaq's hexagon grips and a firm rubber outer that makes it comfortable to use for long sessions and does not loosen during hard fishing.
Single wrapped guides
Type R rods feature single wrapped guides, utilising high quality thread. Less binding gives a sharper and more responsive action from the rod for better feel, cast performance and lure action.
Improved guides and setup
A newly refined guide layout, redesigned from the ground up to achieve perfect synergy with the Muthos Sonio blank action. The butt guide features a Fuji T-RVSG20H its small-diameter ring instantly suppresses line loops, while the narrow multi-guide layout minimizes line flutter throughout the cast. The rest of the rod is fitted with top of the range Fuji Titanuium framed silicon insert K guides. The RG guide system is still used for maximum performance in casting and responsiveness.
Best matched with reels in 4000-6000 size range and optimally matching 5000 saltwater size reels.
