The New and improved UCB 80EXT L Mark II has been revised in 2026 with new and updated carbon and resin. The rod still has a similar feel but with a slight bit more power and sensitivity with the same rod weight.
The FCL Labo UCB 80L Mark II is a fantastic lightweight rod for a range of pelagic fish and large reef species. This rod was conceived to be light enough for fun with species like Mackerel, Wahoo and Kingfish, but still having the power for a reasonable size GT or mid size tuna. The rod is perfect for PE5 and PE6 line, weighs just 350g and has a max drag setting of 10kg. It suits poppers up to around 110g and stickbaits through to the maximum cast weight of 130g. At the lower end, it can handle lures from about 65g and up.
The original UCB 80EXT L has been very popular amongst serious casting anglers and the new Mark II version wont disappoint. This rod will be the ideal rod for chasing mid sized GT's, mackerel, kingfish, mid sized tuna species and large reef species like coral trout, red bass and wrasse.
This rod will balance best with a 8000-14000 size reel from either Daiwa or Shimano. It will however balance a bigger 18000 size reel if you require the extra line capacity.
